Get Ready For Sleek and Chic Hair
It’s time to shake your hair out and get innovative.
We have some very doable Spring Summer 2013 hair trends that will transform your look in no time and with minimal effort (well, for most of them anyway).
As with all fashion trends, there will always be the black to the white or the yin to the yang; but at least which ever camp you decide on (for that particular day), there is something for everyone.
Spring Summer 2013 Hair Trends – Sleek and Chic
Sleek it down and make it shine. The low chignon and the low sleek ponytails were very much in evidence on the runways.
Shiny, sleek and straight hair were tied into tight knots or low buns at the nape of the neck to create some understated elegance. Just don’t forget the anti frizz spray!
With the new low pony tail, the idea is to have your hair blown dead straight and then tied up very loosely and in some cases, very widely. This is what we mean:
At Loewe, this year’s spring summer 2013 hair trends translated into the low Spanish chignon
How to do Loewe’s low Spanish chignon
As done by Guido Palau
Apply Redken’s full effect 07 from roots to tips on damp hair and blow dry it until it is straight.
With a comb, part your hair right in the middle. Make sure it is a straight, clean parting.
Apply a shine serum from the top section of the hair until the ends of it. The Redken team at Loewe used glass 01 serum.
Using a paddle brush, pull hair back into a low, smooth, clean ponytail. Cover the tops of the ears with some hair to get the full effect of the Loewe Spanish-inspired hairstyle.
Tightly twist the ponytail up to form a low bun. Secure it with pins once it is tight and smooth.
Tame any fly-aways and keep the chignon in place by freely spraying on hairspray. Guido and team used Redken’s forceful 23 for a very firm hold and added shine.
Pair your freshly slicked low Spanish chignon with some elegant yet edgy leather pieces to really channel the runway look.
