Looking good is an expensive business.
Looking good naturally and looking as if you do not do much takes even more money. Sure we all believe in good genes and great bone structure, but girls – the natural look needs to be worked at.
Take the press’s favorite target at the moment : Kate Middleton. Yes, she looks radiant and naturally beautiful (it helps if you have just married a prince), but behind the scenes, she is working harder than anyone to look stunning each and every time.
“A product loyalist, Middleton loves Swiss brand Karin Herzog’s skin care items. The company’s managing director told Style.com her favorite items are the $50 Professional Cleanser, the $76 Vita-A-Kombi 1, the $32 Vita-A-Kombi 3 Spot Zapper, and $54 the Oxygen Face Cream. Restocking these items every three months would cost $848 a year.
“Founded by Nobel honoree Dr. Paul Herzog, the company pioneered the use of oxygen in beauty products, spawning an entire trend in the industry—and garnering a number of celebrity fans (Uma Thurman, Victoria Beckham, Renée Zellweger, Courtney Love, and Jerry Hall, among them).”
The Daily Mail says Mother-in-law Duchess Camilla convinced Middleton to try a $260 Bee Sting Facial from Deborah Mitchell, and now she’s hooked. Monthly facials would cost $3,120 a year.”
“Kate Middleton’s hair is envied around the world. At the Richard Ward salon in London, where her stylist James Pryce used to work, cuts run about $250 and styling comes in just under $100. Kate is also said to be a fan of Kérastase in-salon treatments, which can range from about $20 to $30.
Richard Ward told the Daily Mail he dyes Middleton’s hair with L’Oreal Symbio and Fuente Organic colour. A full head of lowlights at his salon costs $376. Every six weeks would cost $3,008.”
“Kate may have done her own makeup for the wedding, but she reportedly took lessons with bridal artist Arabella Preston, who is said to charge $100 per hour for consultations.”
She seems to be a fan of Bobbi Brown. Here are the products:
“-YSL’s Touche Eclat Radiant Touch, $40
-Lancome Hypnose mascara, $26
-Lancome Hydra Zen Neurocalm, $60
-Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20, $42
-Bobbi Brown foundation, $46
-Bobbi Brown Pale Pink blush, $24
-Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact, $39
-Bobbi Brown eye shadow in Ivory, Slate, and Rock Star, $21 each
-Bobbi Brown Black Ink Long Wear Gel Eyeliner, $22
-Bobbi Brown Sandwash Pink lipstick, $23
-Bobbi Brown Crystal Lip gloss, $17”
Kate and her mom are fans of the French diet The Dukan Diet. Although Dr. Pierre Dukan, the founder of the diet has come into some controversy lately, there is no denying that Kate lost weight before the wedding and has managed to keep it off.
Illuminum White Gardenia Petals perfume was her choice of perfume for her wedding day at $150 a bottle.
Together with her sister Pippa, Kate does get a spray tan regularly to not look too pasty white. The healthy glow costs $118 per visit and by the looks of it, does get topped up quite regularly.
“Kate first visited French-born orthodontist Dr Didier Fillion on London’s Wimpole Street for a teeth-whitening makeover.
Dr Fillion — who also has practices in Paris and Geneva, and who travels to Britain two days a week to see patients at The London Lingual Orthodontic Clinic — around a year ago, and had an initial £100 consultation.
Fillion specialises in a method of applying braces from behind the teeth so they are invisible.”
Estimated cost $7,000
So girls, there you have it. This is just the beauty regime and does not include the gym and work out sessions, nail care, the clothes and accessories and other bits and pieces. Being in the public eye is high maintenance work but we think she is worth it!
