Cleaner Sacked For Wearing Too Much Dramatic Makeup

Francine Siddaway likes to wear makeup, in fact she has called it her “armor’ because it gives her confidence to go to work and face the world. However, the bosses at  Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, UK did not think the same way and has sacked the cleaner from the job she has held for three and a half years.

The makeup Francine likes to wear has an Egyptian or Cleopatra element to it with dramatic black lined eyes to make the eyes look cat like.

Francine is considering legal action after being sacked for not “toning down” or removing her makeup.

A spokesman for Addenbrooke’s told the Daily Mail: “All staff sign a form to acknowledge receipt of the Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust uniform policy and dress code for employees and that they agree to abide by the code.”

Francine said: “‘I like Egyptian-look make up. My make-up is my armour – it makes me feel confident.

‘They say my make-up is ‘offensive’, but how can it be when the other staff often compliment me on it?

‘I feel comfortable with my make-up and I can’t see how it could hamper my work or cause any health and safety problems.

‘I work really hard so I do not see it is a problem. I feel I have been victimized and treated appallingly.”

What do you think? Should she be sacked for wearing the makeup that she does or has she been unfairly targeted?
